Este é um projeto independente de tradução do livro Linux From Scratch ( http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/ ) de Gerard Beekmans.A última versão em língua portuguesa deste livro datava de 2005 e havia sido feita por Anderson Lizardo.
Em contato com Anderson fui informado de que ele não participava mais desse projeto e decidi dar continuidade ao mesmo.
Seguindo recomendações dos desenvolvedores na lista de discussão ( http://lists.linuxfromscratch.org/pipermail/lfs-dev/2014-May/069316.html ) do projeto original, esta tradução está sendo publicada como alpha até que se demonstre a viabilidade da utilização da mesma para construção do sistema. Espera-se ainda que eventuais erros de digitação/tradução sejam encontrados e corrigidos.
