DESCRIPTION:
Rat is an experimental tool for composing shell commands to build interactive terminal applications. It lets you run shell commands, capture their output, display that output in a pager, annotate lines of that output (via pattern matching, regex, or external annotators), and attach keybindings to the annotated parts so you can act on them. It’s a bit like combining less or more with interactive annotations and keybindings, allowing building tools (file browsers, log viewers, etc.) via configuration rather than full-GUI programming.
