AIDEa is an experimental, service-oriented Integrated Development Engineering Environment implemented in Free Pascal using Lazarus.
AIDEa is not a Pascal IDE. It is designed as a language- and platform-independent engineering environment in which programming languages, project structures, build systems and engineering knowledge are supplied through externalized Engineering Service Packages rather than being built directly into the IDE.
The first Engineering Service Package targets Free Pascal, making Pascal the first supported programming language.
This Beta release delivers the software-development part of the AIDEa engineering environment, including project and workspace management, source-code editing, visual application design, compiler integration, Git integration, AI-assisted engineering exchange, resource management, localization and externalized development-environment definitions.
AIDEa can develop and build AIDEa itself, providing an increasingly self-hosted environment.
