Build Your Own Lisp is the source repository for an educational book that teaches C by guiding readers through the creation of a small Lisp-like programming language. The course starts with C fundamentals and an interactive prompt before introducing parsing and language design. Later chapters build evaluation, error handling, S-expressions, Q-expressions, variables, functions, conditionals, strings, and a standard library. The finished interpreter stays under roughly 1,000 lines of C code. The repository contains the book’s HTML pages, source files, downloadable code, and website assets. A small Flask application can serve the complete book locally for offline study. Book content and source code use separate open licenses.
