Aumus

DESCRIPTION:

A music server that can play FLAC or mp3 files. The server is controlled via various client applications.

Supplied client applications include a command line one suitable for integrating with LIRC, a desktop graphical app, and an Android OS application.

Features

  • Simple to setup (on my Windows PC, there's no setup whatsoever for the server).
  • Aumus can play entire folders of music with a single command selecting the folder to play. That alone can eliminate the need for playlists. Since I almost always randomly play my entire music collection, I have eliminated having to maintain playlists.
  • Playlists can have folder names in them.
  • You can add music randomly throughout the playing set of songs.
  • While you are listening to a collection of music, if you're in the mood to listen to a particular song or album, you can insert that and listen to that. When it's done, Aumus will go back to playing your collection.
  • No need for playlists or synchronizing server when new music is added
