electron-dl is a JavaScript package that simplifies file downloading inside Electron desktop applications. It replaces substantial download-handling boilerplate with a small API that operates from Electron's main process. Files can be saved automatically to the user's Downloads directory or routed to another specified folder. The package handles multiple simultaneous downloads and can expose individual and combined progress information. Desktop integrations can display download progress and file-count badges on supported dock or taskbar icons. Developers can customize filenames, Save As dialogs, overwrite behavior, completion handling, cancellation, and error messages. It supports BrowserWindow and WebContentsView targets and currently requires Electron 30 or later.
