lmdExplorer
DESCRIPTION
The lmd_full database is a collection of more than 176,000 midi files
occupying 6.2Gb. Finding specific files in this collection is far from
straight forward since all the file names are 32 character md5 checksum names. Like midiexplorer, this clone provides various tools to visualize the midi files and to search for files having specific features. In addition, lmdExplorer provides an interface to the midicaps json file.
lmdExplorer like midiexplorer is a user interface to numerous helper programs. It is not a turnkey system and requires considerable setup to get it working. If you have not managed to get midiexplorer running, I do not recommend wasting your time trying to get lmdExplorer working.
Features
- Tool for exploring the Lakh Midi Dataset v 0.1

- A tool for searching for midi files in the above database having specific characteristics.
- A tool for visualizing the information in the midi file.
- A tool for playing the selected midi file using external programs like Musescore, timidity, and etc.
- A tool for converting the selected midi file to abc music notation.
This is an application that can also be fetched from https://sourceforge.net/projects/lmdexplorer/. It has been hosted in OnWorks in order to be run online in an easiest way from one of our free Operative Systems.
