The Interplanetary Overlay Network (ION) software distribution is an implementation of Delay-Tolerant Networking (DTN) architecture, as described in Internet RFC 4838, that is intended to be usable in embedded environments including spacecraft flight computers.

ION versions 4.1.1 has been posted. It builds BPv7 by default, with a configure option for BPv6. See notes in README.
Note that we are no longer creating 3.x versions of ION. Both BPv7 and BPv6 builds report the 4.x version (ion.log reports v6/v7).

Windows installers have been posted for both BPv6 and BPv7.

1. Our development environments for RTEMS, FreeBSD, Android, and uClibc have experienced various types of bit rot. If you run into problems running ION on any of these platforms, please post to the mailing list.

2. Some compilers will complain when asked to build the zfec module. See the README notes for details.

The Python interface to the ION API is at https://github.com/msancheznet/pyion
