A tool to draw various charts from textual description. Currently, three types of charts are supported: Message Sequence Charts, generic graphs and Block Diagrams, with more to be added in the future. There is a command-line version for linux (replacing mscgen) together with a GTK GUI.

Msc-generator allows fine control over appearance and has a rich feature set complete with detailed documentation. On Windows you can embed the charts in an document or presentation and simply double-click it in Office to edit them. On Linux, a command-line version is available with a GTK GUI that saves chart text into the generated PNG file. On the Mac the command-line version works - the GUI is being ported now.

See the Wiki for detailed user and code documentation.

Gábor Németh has volunteered to maintain a debian package for Ubuntu and has also developed a small GUI. See install instructions on the Wiki.
