Sidekiq is a background job processing library for Ruby applications. It allows you to run jobs (tasks) outside of the request/response cycle (in web apps etc) via a queue, using multithreading to handle many jobs in the same process efficiently. It uses Redis as the job store, supports retries, scheduling, job monitoring, and works with Rails (and Active Job) or plain Ruby.
