Initializr is an HTML5 Boilerplate build tool that generates customized starter packages for front-end web projects. Its HTTP API can either download a generated archive or display its contents for inspection. Projects are assembled from modules representing code snippets, JavaScript libraries, files, and other optional components. Developers select modules by adding their identifiers as request parameters to the builder URL. Each module uses JSON metadata to define its name, author, inserted content, destination, and incompatible alternatives. This lets the generator combine technologies such as Modernizr without manually editing the underlying template. The repository represents an older generation of web tooling but remains a useful example of modular project scaffolding.
