Kestrel is a simple, distributed message queue server developed in Scala / running on the JVM, originally by Twitter, whose design is inspired by (and ported from) Starling. It provides reliable, ordered message queues with features like durability, item expiration, fan-out (writer to many readers), and multiple protocol support. The project has been archived (i.e. no longer actively maintained).
